What is ikWik? A guide to sending and carrying parcels

ikWik is a parcel delivery platform that connects senders, independent carriers and travellers, authorised pickup-point agents, and receivers. It brings the practical steps of arranging a delivery into one place: choosing locations, describing a parcel, reviewing a quote, finding compatible carrying capacity and recording handovers.

Whether you have a parcel to send or space to carry one on a planned journey, the details matter. Where exactly is the pickup? Does the parcel fit? Who receives it at the other end? Here is how ikWik helps the people involved coordinate those steps, from the first request to collection.

Start with the parcel and the map

For a sender, a delivery request begins with the pickup and destination locations. Select each location on the map and check the pin before confirming it. You can use your device location if you allow access, or place the pin yourself. Where address search is available, check that its result points to the intended place.

Next, enter the receiver’s name and phone number, along with the parcel’s weight, size and category. You can also add a photo and a preferred delivery window. Accurate details help a carrier assess the request and help the receiver prepare for collection. Check the applicable parcel restrictions before submitting, especially if the contents or handling needs require clarification.

Review the route, quote and delivery status

ikWik evaluates eligible local carrier availability and compatible registered trips. Depending on what is available, a delivery may travel directly with an assigned carrier or follow a route through authorised pickup points. Capacity, timing, location and verification all matter, and a carrier must accept the opportunity.

The delivery and route information are used to prepare a quote. Review the amount and currency before using a payment option shown for your account. A quote or proposed route does not guarantee that a carrier will accept or that a parcel will arrive at a particular time. If a checkout payment looks uncertain, check its status before trying again; returning from the payment page alone does not confirm success.

Offer local availability or register a planned trip

Carriers and travellers can use ikWik to offer carrying capacity. An eligible account can add the carrier role while keeping its sender access. Carrier enrolment requires an active account, a verified email address and identity verification through the app’s secure process.

There are two distinct ways to offer capacity:

  • Local availability: use your current location and a service radius to indicate where you can take compatible local work.
  • A registered trip: enter a planned journey with its route, schedule and available carrying capacity.

Keep those details current and review each delivery offer before accepting. Signing up does not guarantee offers or earnings. Eligible completed work can generate earnings once the required delivery and payment conditions are met. Earnings are held before becoming available for a payout request; completing a delivery does not mean an immediate payout.

Give each handover a clear record

Pickup points can provide a place for authorised participants to receive, inspect and hand over parcels along an available route. An origin agent may register and inspect a parcel, then accept or reject it as appropriate. At the destination, an authorised agent may hold it until release to the receiver.

Working as a pickup-point agent requires more than adding a role to an account. After the required verification, an administrator must assign the agent to an authorised point. Agents and carriers follow the actions shown for their assigned delivery, including QR/code confirmation or other evidence when requested. Those records help document who handed over a parcel and which steps were completed.

Receive a parcel without creating an account

The sender can share a private tracking link with the intended receiver. The receiver does not need an ikWik account to open it and follow confirmed delivery statuses and timeline events. Collection details and handover instructions appear when relevant to the delivery stage.

This is event-based parcel tracking, rather than continuous GPS tracking. A status update records progress; it does not guarantee an arrival time. Keep the tracking link private, and show the receiver QR code or collection code only to the authorised carrier or agent while physically receiving the parcel. If something is unclear or a code does not work, contact Support before confirming a handover.

Plan your first step with ikWik

Planning a parcel delivery in Cameroon or elsewhere in Africa? Start by checking your specific pickup and destination in the app or with ikWik Support. Route availability depends on eligible participants, capacity, acceptance and active pickup points where needed. Confirm the route before making arrangements.

  • Sending a parcel? Prepare the receiver’s details, check the map pins and parcel information, then review the route and quote.
  • Carrying parcels? Complete the required verification and choose local availability, a registered trip, or both according to your plans.
  • Joining as an agent? Complete verification and obtain an assignment to an authorised pickup point before handling parcels.
  • Receiving a parcel? Ask the sender for the private tracking link and follow the collection instructions.
