A nearby delivery and a parcel carried on a planned trip need different preparation. Both involve checking what you can carry, when you can travel and how the parcel will change hands. ikWik supports local availability and registered trips, with opportunities depending on eligibility, capacity, timing and acceptance.

This guide explains how to prepare for either approach and what to check before accepting. ikWik is a technology marketplace. Adding the carrier role is not an employment agreement or a promise of work. Carriers and travellers choose whether to accept opportunities and remain responsible for the requirements that apply to their activities.

Start with your account and verification

An eligible sender can add the carrier role to an existing account while keeping sender access. Carrier enrolment requires an active account, a verified email address and verified identity. Follow the secure verification process in the app and review any requirements shown before expecting to receive work.

Keep identity documents and sign-in details out of ordinary delivery messages. Use the secure process supplied for verification. For questions about account eligibility, contact Support; another participant cannot replace the platform’s verification steps.

Choose local availability or a planned trip

Local availability uses your current location and a service radius to identify compatible nearby work. Choose settings that reflect the area you can realistically serve. Think about access, travel time and the space you have available. A larger radius should still represent work you could responsibly review and carry out.

A registered trip describes travel you plan to make, with an itinerary, schedule and available carrying capacity. Check those details against your actual plans, including the time needed for collection and handover. Registering a journey does not establish permission to transport a particular parcel or guarantee a compatible request.

Keep your availability and trip information current. These are separate ways of describing capacity, so check the appropriate settings when your plans change. Do not assume that a location update means the platform is continuously tracking your movements in the background.

Review each opportunity before accepting

Read the delivery details rather than deciding only by distance. A parcel may fit your route but require more space or handover time than you have. Check that you understand the assigned work and ask for clarification about anything that would affect safe, lawful transport.

  • Compare pickup and destination with your real route and schedule.
  • Check the parcel description, weight, dimensions and handling needs.
  • Allow time for the collection and release instructions shown.
  • Check relevant transport-provider restrictions before carrying a parcel on your journey.
  • Review any displayed earnings information without assuming a fixed return.

Eligibility, verification, activity, capacity, timing and geographic compatibility are checked when you accept. An offer may expire or become unavailable. Wait for the app’s assignment status and follow the actions available for that delivery. Enrolment and an offer notification alone do not establish that a parcel has been assigned to you.

If a journey would cross a border, confirm route availability and the requirements for that specific movement before accepting. Do not assume that recording an international trip settles customs, permits or transport-provider restrictions. Use Support for service questions and check the applicable requirements with the relevant authorities or provider.

Keep physical custody and app records aligned

Once assigned, follow the collection, departure, arrival and handover actions shown. Use the required QR or code confirmation and provide evidence when requested. Each recorded action should correspond to what physically happened. Never mark a parcel received, transferred or delivered merely to move the screen forward.

For a route through pickup points, work only with the authorised participants indicated by the delivery instructions. The receiver’s collection code belongs at the final, appropriate handover stage, while the receiver physically receives the parcel. If the person, parcel or verification step does not match the instructions, pause and contact Support rather than arranging an unrecorded transfer.

Use the delivery conversation for practical coordination with authorised participants. Report delays, damage or a failed handover with the delivery reference and relevant evidence. Do not promise an automatic return, refund or compensation; these situations need review.

Understand earnings before planning around them

Eligible completed work can create earnings once the required delivery and payment conditions are met. Earnings are held before becoming available. Only available earnings can be included in a payout request, so a completed delivery does not mean money can immediately be requested or received.

Add an active payout method and check the applicable minimum and eligibility shown for your account. Payout requests are processed manually, with results recorded in the app. A submitted request does not confirm that funds have been sent. Contact Support if a status or outcome is unclear; do not plan around an unconfirmed payout date.
